English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami told us, Abbad ibn Abbad told us, Asim told us, from Abu Uthman, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: There was a man from the Ansar whose house was the farthest house in Medina, yet he never missed the prayer with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: I felt sorry for him, so I said, "O so-and-so, if only you would buy a donkey to protect you from the heat of the scorching ground and protect you from the crawling creatures of the earth." He said, "By Allah, I would not like my house to be next to the house of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him." He said: So I carried a burden of concern for this until I brought it to the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him. He summoned the man, who said the same thing, mentioning that he hoped for the reward for his footsteps. So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "You shall have what you have intended."
