English Translation
Abdullah told us, Hajjaj ibn Yusuf al-Sha'ir told us, he said: Wahb ibn Jarir told me — I had asked him — my father told us, he said: I heard Ayyub narrating, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b: that when Gabriel struck the ground with his heel and Zamzam gushed forth, the mother of Isma'il began to gather up the loose earth around it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "May Allah have mercy on Hajar, the mother of Isma'il; had she left it, it would have been a flowing spring."
