English Translation
Abu al-Yaman told us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, who said: Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Ansari -- and he had seen the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and heard from him, and mentioned that he was fifteen years old when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, died -- Ubayy ibn Ka'b told me that the ruling by which they used to give fatwa was a concession that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had granted at the beginning of Islam, and then he commanded us to perform ghusl afterward.
