English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam told us, Isra'il told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Haritha ibn Mudarrib, who said: I entered upon Khabbab when he had been cauterized seven times, and he said: "Were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Let none of you wish for death,' I would have wished for it. I indeed recall being with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when I possessed not a single dirham, yet now I have forty thousand dirhams in a corner of my house." Then his shroud was brought to him, and when he saw it he wept and said: "But Hamzah -- no shroud could be found for him except a striped cloak; when it was placed over his head it drew back from his feet, and when placed over his feet it drew back from his head, until it was stretched over his head and idhkhir grass was placed over his feet."
