حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ وَيُوسُفُ الصَّفَّارُ مَوْلَى بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ سِيَاهٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي سَمُرَةَ جَالِسٌ أَمَامِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الْفُحْشَ وَالتَّفَاحُشَ لَيْسَا مِنْ الْإِسْلَامِ فِي شَيْءٍ وَإِنَّ خَيْرَ النَّاسِ إِسْلَامًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ.
English Translation
Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, Abdullah ibn Muhammad, narrated to me, and Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Numayr and Yusuf al-Saffar, the freedman of Banu Umayyah, narrated to me, they said: Abu Usamah narrated to us from Zakariyya ibn Siyah al-Thaqafi: Imran ibn Muslim ibn Riyah narrated to us from Ali ibn Umarah, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: I was sitting in a gathering in which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was present, and my father Samurah was sitting in front of me, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Obscenity and excessive obscenity have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, and the best of people in Islam are those best in character." Ibn Abi Shaybah said in his account: "Zakariyya ibn Abi Yahya from Imran ibn Riyah."
