حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُرِحَ فَآذَتْهُ الْجِرَاحَةُ فَدَبَّ إِلَى مَشَاقِصَ فَذَبَحَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ هَكَذَا أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ وَلَا أَحْسَبُ هَذِهِ الزِّيَادَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ قَوْلِ شَرِيكٍ قَوْلَهُ ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ.
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah narrated that a man from the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was wounded, and the wound pained him, so he crawled to some arrowheads and slaughtered himself with them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not pray over him and said: 'All of that was discipline from him.'
