حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَشْرَجٌ عَنْ أَبِي نُصَيْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَسِيبٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلًا فَمَرَّ بِي فَدَعَانِي إِلَيْهِ فَخَرَجْتُ ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ فَدَعَاهُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِعُمَرَ فَدَعَاهُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ فَانْطَلَقَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ حَائِطًا لِبَعْضِ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَائِطِ أَطْعِمْنَا بُسْرًا فَجَاءَ بِعِذْقٍ فَوَضَعَهُ فَأَكَلَ فَأَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ بَارِدٍ فَشَرِبَ فَقَالَ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَنْ هَذَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ عُمَرُ الْعِذْقَ فَضَرَبَ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ حَتَّى تَنَاثَرَ الْبُسْرُ قِبَلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَئِنَّا لَمَسْئُولُونَ عَنْ هَذَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ خِرْقَةٍ كَفَّ بِهَا الرَّجُلُ عَوْرَتَهُ أَوْ كِسْرَةٍ سَدَّ بِهَا جَوْعَتَهُ أَوْ حَجَرٍ يَتَدَخَّلُ فِيهِ مِنْ الْحَرِّ وَالْقُرِّ.
English Translation
Abu 'Asib said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out at night and passed by me and called me, so I came out. Then he passed by Abu Bakr and called him, and he came out. Then he passed by 'Umar and called him, and he came out. They walked until they entered an orchard of one of the Ansar. He said to the owner of the orchard: 'Feed us some unripe dates.' He brought a cluster and placed it down. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions ate. Then he called for cold water and drank. He said: 'You will be asked about this comfort on the Day of Resurrection.'
