حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ جَمِيلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَلِيحٍ عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ قَالَ ذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُنَّا نَعْتِرُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ اذْبَحُوا لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ مَا كَانَ وَبَرُّوا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَأَطْعِمُوا.
English Translation
Nubayshah narrated: It was mentioned to the Prophet (peace be upon him) that we used to offer the 'Atirah sacrifice during the pre-Islamic period. He said: 'Sacrifice for Allah, Blessed and Most High, in any month, do good for the sake of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, and feed people.'
