حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَحَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا ثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ حَيَّةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا شَيْءَ فِي الْهَامِ وَالْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ وَأَصْدَقُ الطِّيَرِ الْفَأْلُ.
English Translation
Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'There is nothing in the hooting of owls; the evil eye is real; and the truest form of omen is the good omen (al-fa'l).'
