حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ لَمَّا ادَّعَى زِيَادٌ لَقِيتُ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا الَّذِي صَنَعْتُمْ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعَتْ أُذُنَايَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ مَنْ ادَّعَى أَبًا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ غَيْرَ أَبِيهِ فَالْجَنَّةُ عَلَيْهِ حَرَامٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرَةَ وَأَنَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us: Khalid al-Hadhdha' informed us, from Abu 'Uthman, who said: When Ziyad made his claim, I met Abu Bakra and said: "What is this that you have done? I heard Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas say: 'My ears heard from the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, as he said: Whoever claims a father in Islam other than his own father, Paradise is forbidden to him.'" Abu Bakra said: "I too heard this from the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him."
