حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كَانَ جُهَيْنَةُ وَأَسْلَمُ وَغِفَارُ وَمُزَيْنَةُ خَيْرًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ وَمِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَمِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ غَطَفَانَ وَمِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ قَدْ خَابُوا وَخَسِرُوا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَمِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ وَمِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ وَمِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ غَطَفَانَ.
English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from 'Abd al-Malik b. 'Umayr, from 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra, from his father, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "What do you think — if Juhayna, Aslam, Ghifar, and Muzayna were better in God's sight than Banu Asad, Banu Tamim, Banu 'Abdullah b. Ghatafan, and Banu 'Amir b. Sa'sa'a?" A man said: "They have failed and lost." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "They are better than Banu Tamim, Banu 'Amir b. Sa'sa'a, Banu Asad, and Banu 'Abdullah b. Ghatafan."
