حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ثَنَا مُعَاذٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَن أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَن أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا خَافَ قَوْمًا قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ.
English Translation
Ali ibn Abdullah told us: Mu'adh told us: My father told me, from Qatadah, from Abu Burdah ibn Abdullah ibn Qays, from his father Abdullah ibn Qays, that the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he feared a people, would say, "O Allah, we place You against their throats, and we seek refuge in You from their evils."
