حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَن مُرَّةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَن أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَمُلَ مِنْ الرِّجَالِ كَثِيرٌ وَلَمْ يَكْمُلْ مِنْ النِّسَاءِ غَيْرُ مَرْيَمَ بِنْتِ عِمْرَانَ وَآسِيَةَ امْرَأَةِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ.
English Translation
Yahya b. Sa'id and Muhammad b. Ja'far told us, they said: Shu'ba told us - Yahya said in his account: Amr b. Murra told me - Ibn Ja'far said: from Murra al-Hamdani - from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Many men have reached perfection, but none of the women reached perfection except Maryam bint Imran and Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh. And the superiority of A'isha over other women is like the superiority of tharid over all other food."
