حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَن أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَن أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَن أَبِيهِ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي نَفْسِهَا فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَقَدْ أَذِنَتْ وَإِنْ أَبَتْ فَلَا تُزَوَّجْ.
English Translation
Aswad b. Amir told us: Isra'il told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Burda, from his father, raising it to the Prophet, who said: "An orphan girl's consent is sought regarding herself; if she remains silent, that is her consent; if she refuses, she is not to be married."
