English Translation
Ibn Abi Adiyy told us, from Sulayman - that is al-Taymi - from Abu al-Salil, from Zahdam, from Abu Musa, who said: We went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, seeking mounts, and he said, "By Allah, I will not give you mounts." So we went back, and then he sent us three white-humped camels. Some of us said to others, "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, swore not to give us mounts." So we came to him and said, "You swore not to give us mounts." He said, "I did not give you mounts; rather Allah Almighty gave you mounts. There is no oath on earth that I swear and then see something better than it, except that I do what is better."
