Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَجِبْتُ مِمَّنْ يَتَقَدَّمُ الشَّهْرَ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَصُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ أَوْ قَالَ صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ.
English Translation
I am amazed at those who fast before the month begins, when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not fast until you see it (the new moon)" — or he said: "Fast upon sighting it."
