حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ قُلْنَا لِزَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ حَدِّثْنَا قَالَ كَبُرْنَا وَنَسِينَا وَالْحَدِيثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَدِيدٌ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Ibn Abi Layla, who said: We said to Zayd ibn Arqam, Tell us. He said: We have grown old and forgotten, and narrating from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is a grave matter.
