حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَمْزَةَ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ يَقُولُ أَوَّلُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ قَالَ عَمْرٌو فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ فَأَنْكَرَهُ وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ.
English Translation
Husayn told us: Shu'bah told us, from Amr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard Abu Hamzah, a man from the Ansar, say: I heard Zayd ibn Arqam say: The first to embrace Islam with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was Ali, may Allah be pleased with him. Amr said: I mentioned that to Ibrahim, and he denied it, saying instead: Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him.
