حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ هُشَيْمٌ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّةً عَنْ ابْنِ الْعَلَاءِ وَمَرَّةً لَمْ يَصِلْ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ كَتَبَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ.
English Translation
Hushaym told us, Mansur told us, from Ibn Sirin, from Ibn al-Ala' al-Hadrami, who said - my father said: Hushaym narrated it to us twice, once from Ibn al-Ala', and once without connecting the chain fully - that his father wrote to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and began the letter with mention of himself.
