English Translation
Abd al-Rahman told us, from Sufyan, from Ata' - meaning Ibn al-Sa'ib - from a man of Bakr ibn Wa'il, from his maternal uncle, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, shall I collect a tithe from my people?" He said, "The tithe (tax of a tenth) is only upon the Jews and the Christians; there is no tithe upon Islam."
