حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَرَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَوَّارِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَعْمَرَ يُخْبِرُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ زَعَمَ عُمَرُ أَنَّ يَحْيَى قَدْ سَمَّى ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلَ وَنَسِيَهُ عُمَرُ أَنَّ عَمَّارًا قَالَ تَخَلَّقْتُ خَلُوقًا فَجِئْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَانْتَهَرَنِي وَقَالَ اذْهَبْ يَا ابْنَ أُمِّ عَمَّارٍ فَاغْسِلْ عَنْكَ فَرَجَعْتُ فَغَسَلْتُ عَنِّي قَالَ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَانْتَهَرَنِي أَيْضًا قَالَ ارْجِعْ فَاغْسِلْ عَنْكَ فَذَكَرَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ibn Jurayj informed us - and Rawh told us: Ibn Jurayj told us: Umar ibn Ata' ibn Abi al-Khawwar informed me that he heard Yahya ibn Ya'mar relate from a man who told him, from Ammar ibn Yasir - Umar claimed that Yahya had named that man, but Umar had forgotten it - that Ammar said: "I anointed myself with perfume, then came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he rebuked me and said: 'Go, O son of Umm Ammar, and wash it off yourself.' So I went back and washed it off myself." He said: "Then I returned to him, and he rebuked me again, saying: 'Go back and wash it off yourself'" - he mentioned this three times.
