حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حِينَ افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى حَاذَتْ إِبْهَامُهُ شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ.
English Translation
Waki' told us: Fitr told us, from Abd al-Jabbar ibn Wa'il, from his father, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raise his hands when he opened the prayer, until his thumbs were level with the lobes of his ears.
