English Translation
Abidah ibn Humayd told us: al-Aswad ibn Qays told me, from Jundub ibn Sufyan al-Bajali, then al-Alaqi, that he prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of sacrifice (Adha). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished, he found meat and sacrificial offerings already there. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) realized that they had been slaughtered before he had prayed, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever slaughtered before we prayed, let him slaughter another in its place; and whoever has not slaughtered until we have prayed, let him slaughter in the name of Allah."
