حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ صَحِبْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَمِعْنَاهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ فِتَنًا كَأَنَّهَا قِطَعُ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا مُؤْمِنًا ثُمَّ يُمْسِي كَافِرًا وَيُمْسِي مُؤْمِنًا ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ كَافِرًا يَبِيعُ أَقْوَامٌ خَلَاقَهُمْ بِعَرَضٍ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا يَسِيرٍ أَوْ بِعَرَضِ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ الْحَسَنُ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْنَاهُمْ صُوَرًا وَلَا عُقُولَ أَجْسَامًا وَلَا أَحْلَامَ فَرَاشَ نَارٍ وَذِبَّانَ طَمَعٍ يَغْدُونَ بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ وَيَرُوحُونَ بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ يَبِيعُ أَحَدُهُمْ دَيْنَهُ بِثَمَنِ الْعَنْزِ.
English Translation
Abu al-Nadr told us: al-Mubarak told us, from al-Hasan, from al-Nu'man b. Bashir, who said: We accompanied the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and heard him say: "Before the Hour there will be tribulations like pieces of dark night; a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever by evening, and a believer in the evening and a disbeliever by morning; people will sell their share of faith for a small worldly gain, or for worldly goods." Al-Hasan said: By Allah, we have indeed seen them - mere forms without minds, bodies without understanding, moths of fire and flies of greed, going out for two dirhams and returning with two dirhams; one of them would sell his religion for the price of a goat.
