English Translation
Waki' told us, from Isra'il, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Ayzar b. Hurayth, from al-Nu'man b. Bashir, who said: Abu Bakr came seeking permission to enter upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and heard A'isha raising her voice at the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He was given permission and entered, and said, "O daughter of Umm Ruman," reaching toward her, "do you raise your voice at the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" He said: So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came between him and her. He said: When Abu Bakr left, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, began saying to her, trying to please her, "Do you not see that I came between the man and you?" He said: Then Abu Bakr came again and sought permission to enter upon him, and found him joking with her. He said: So he was given permission and entered, and Abu Bakr said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, include me in your peace as you included me in your war."
