English Translation
It was narrated to us by Hasan ibn Musa, who said: it was narrated to us by Hammad ibn Zayd, from Asim ibn Bahdalah, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh, who said: I came to Safwan ibn Assal al-Muradi, and he said, "What brought you here?" I said, "Seeking knowledge." He said, "It has reached me that the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge, pleased with what he does," and he mentioned the hadith. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "A man is with whom he loves." He said, "He continued narrating to me until he told me that Allah, Mighty and Sublime, made a gate in the west, whose breadth would take seventy years to traverse, for repentance, which will not be closed as long as the sun has not risen from that direction, and that is the meaning of the saying of Allah, Mighty and Sublime: {On the Day when some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith}."
