English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Hisham narrated to us, from Hafsah, from al-Rabab al-Dabbiyyah, from Salman ibn Amir al-Dabbi, that he said: 'When one of you breaks his fast, let him break it with dates; if he cannot find any, let him break it with water, for water is purifying.' Hisham said: And Asim al-Ahwal narrated to me that Hafsah attributed it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
