English Translation

Affan told us, Aban told us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir told us, a shaykh from the Ansar called Abu Ibrahim told us, from his father, that the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he prayed over the dead, would say: 'O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those of us who are present and those who are absent, our males and our females, our young and our old.' Yahya said: Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman also told me this hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he added in it: 'O Allah, whoever of us You keep alive, keep him alive upon Islam, and whoever of us You cause to die, cause him to die upon faith.'
