حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَأَيَا جَنَازَةً فَقَامَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَقَعَدَ الْآخَرُ فَقَالَ الَّذِي قَامَ أَلَمْ يَقُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ الَّذِي قَعَدَ بَلَى وَقَعَدَ.
English Translation
Al-Hasan ibn Ali and Ibn Abbas saw a funeral. One of them stood and the other sat. The one who stood said: 'Did not the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stand?' The one who sat said: 'Yes, and he also sat.'
