حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُشَّانَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَعْجَبُ رَبُّكَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ فِي رَأْسِ الشَّظِيَّةِ لِلْجَبَلِ يُؤَذِّنُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَيُصَلِّي فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ انْظُرُوا إِلَى عَبْدِي هَذَا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيُقِيمُ يَخَافُ شَيْئًا قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَهُ وَأَدْخَلْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ الْمَعَافِرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَعْجَبُ رَبُّكَ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَخَافُ مِنِّي قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَهُ فَأَدْخَلْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ.
English Translation
Hasan told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, Abu Ushanah told us, from Uqbah ibn Amir, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, is pleased with a shepherd of sheep who, on the peak of a mountain crag, calls the adhan for prayer and prays; so Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: Look at this servant of Mine — he calls the adhan and performs the iqamah, fearing something (Me); I have forgiven him and admitted him to Paradise. Harun ibn Ma'ruf told us, Ibn Wahb told us, from Amr ibn al-Harith, that Abu Ushanah al-Ma'afiri told him, from Uqbah ibn Amir, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Your Lord is pleased — and he mentioned its like, except that he said: he fears Me — I have forgiven him and admitted him to Paradise.
