حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَنَّ مِشْرَحَ بْنَ هَاعَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَوْ كَانَ مِنْ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ لَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ.
English Translation
Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, Haywah told us, Bakr ibn Amr told us, that Mishrah ibn Ha'an informed him that he heard Uqbah ibn Amir say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: If there were to be a prophet after me, it would be Umar ibn al-Khattab.
