English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar told us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Zayd ibn Sallam, from Abd Allah ibn Zayd al-Azraq, from Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There are two kinds of jealousy, one of which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, loves and the other He hates, and two kinds of pride, one of which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, loves and the other He hates. Jealousy in shooting (in defense of honor) Allah loves, and jealousy in other than that Allah hates; and the pride of a man when he gives charity Allah loves, and pride in arrogance Allah hates.
