حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ الضَّمْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الرُّعَيْنِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُخْتَهُ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَمْشِيَ حَافِيَةً غَيْرَ مُخْتَمِرَةٍ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُقْبَةُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مُرْ أُخْتَكَ فَلْتَرْكَبْ وَلْتَخْتَمِرْ وَلْتَصُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ.
English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Zahr al-Damri, that he heard Abu Sa'id al-Ru'ayni relate that 'Abdullah ibn Malik told him, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir al-Juhani, that his sister vowed to walk barefoot and unveiled. 'Uqbah mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Tell your sister to ride, wear a veil, and fast three days."
