حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ شِمَاسَةَ يَقُولُ أَتَيْنَا أَبَا الْخَيْرِ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّمَا النَّذْرُ يَمِينٌ كَفَّارَتُهَا كَفَّارَةُ الْيَمِينِ.
English Translation
Abu Sa'id, the freedman of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, he said: Ka'b ibn 'Alqamah narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah say: We came to Abu al-Khayr, and he said: I heard 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "A vow is only an oath; its expiation is the expiation of an oath."
