حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ أُخْتَ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَحُجَّ مَاشِيَةً فَسَأَلَ عُقْبَةُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْكَبْ فَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَفْهَمْ عَنْهُ فَلَمَّا خَلَا مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ عَادَ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْكَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ أُخْتِكَ نَفْسَهَا لَغَنِيٌّ.
English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id told me, from 'Ubaydullah ibn Zahr, from Abu Sa'id, from 'Abdullah ibn Malik, that the sister of 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir vowed to make the pilgrimage on foot. 'Uqbah asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about this, and he said, "Tell her to ride." He thought that he had not understood him, so when those who were with him had left, he returned and asked him again, and he said, "Tell her to ride, for Allah, Mighty and Sublime, has no need of your sister torturing herself."
