English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Ash'ath, from Shaddad ibn Aws, who said: Two things I have retained from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: Indeed Allah, Mighty and Sublime, has prescribed excellence in all things; so when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well; and let one of you sharpen his blade and let him give ease to the animal he slaughters.
