English Translation

Affan narrated to us, he said: Hammam narrated to us, he said: Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib narrated to us, he said: Salim al-Barrad narrated to us - and he said he considered him more trustworthy than himself - he said: Abu Mas'ud al-Badri said to us, "Shall I not pray for you the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" He said: He said the takbir, then bowed, placing his palms on his knees with his fingers spread apart along his shins, and he held his upper arms away from his sides until every part of him settled. Then he said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him," and he stood upright until every part of him settled. Then he said the takbir and prostrated, holding his upper arms away from his sides until every part of him settled. Then he raised his head and sat upright until every part of him settled. Then he prostrated the second time. He led us in prayer of four rak'ahs like this, then said, "This is how the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was" - or he said, "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray."
