English Translation
Abdullah told us, saying: I read this hadith to my father: Abbad ibn Abbad and Ibn Abi Adi told us, from Ibn Awn, from Makhul, that Uqbah said — Ibn Abi Adi said: he came to Maslamah ibn Mukhallad in Egypt, and there had been something between him and the doorkeeper, but he heard his voice and admitted him. He said: "I have not come to you as a visitor, but I have come to you for a purpose — do you remember the day..." Abbad said in his hadith: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever learns of a bad deed of his brother and conceals it, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will conceal it for him on the Day of Resurrection." He said: "Yes." He said: "It is for this that I have come." Ibn Abi Adi said in his hadith: Uqbah ibn Amir rode to Maslamah ibn Mukhallad while he was governor of Egypt.
