قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ كُلْثُومٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي غَادِيَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ إِلَى أَنْ تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا غَادِيَةَ الْجُهَنِيَّ قَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ.
English Translation
He said: 'Abd al-Samad ibn 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us, he said: Rabi'ah ibn Kulthum narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, from Abu Ghadiyah al-Juhani, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, delivered a sermon to us on the day of al-'Aqabah, and said: "O people, your blood and your property are sacred to you until you meet your Lord, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours, in this month of yours. Have I not conveyed the message?" They said, "Yes." He said: "O God, bear witness that I have conveyed it." 'Affan narrated to us, he said: Rabi'ah narrated to me, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: I heard Abu Ghadiyah al-Juhani say: I gave my pledge to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, on the day of al-'Aqabah, and he said: "O people, your blood..." and he mentioned the like of it.
