حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ حِلْفَ الْمُطَيَّبِينَ مَعَ عُمُومَتِي وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ فَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي حُمْرَ النَّعَمِ وَأَنِّي أَنْكُثُهُ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يُصِبْ الْإِسْلَامُ حِلْفًا إِلَّا زَادَهُ شِدَّةً وَلَا حِلْفَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَقَدْ أَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ قُرَيْشٍ وَالْأَنْصَارِ.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: 'I witnessed the Alliance of the Perfumed Ones (Hilf al-Mutayyibin) with my uncles when I was a boy. I would not wish to have red camels in exchange for breaking it.' Al-Zuhri said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Islam has not encountered any alliance except that it strengthened it. There is no (new) alliance in Islam.' And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) united Quraysh and the Ansar.
