حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ رَجُلٌ خَدَمَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامُهُ يَقُولُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعَمْتَ وَأَسْقَيْتَ وَأَغْنَيْتَ وَأَقْنَيْتَ وَهَدَيْتَ وَأَحْيَيْتَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَا أَعْطَيْتَ.
English Translation
Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, he said: Sa'id ibn Abi Ayyub told us, he said: Bakr ibn Amr told me, from Abdullah ibn Hubayrah, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr, that a man who had served the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, for eight years told him that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him - when his food was brought near to him - say, "In the name of God," and when he finished his food he would say, "O God, You have fed and given drink, enriched and provided possessions, guided and given life; to You belongs all praise for what You have given."
