قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ أَبِي وَقَالَ غَيْرُ يُونُسَ بْنِ رَزِينٍ أَنَّهُ نَزَلَ الرَّبَذَةَ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ يُرِيدُونَ الْحَجَّ قِيلَ لَهُمْ هَاهُنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَيْنَاهُ فَسَلَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ سَأَلْنَاهُ فَقَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي هَذِهِ وَأَخْرَجَ لَنَا كَفَّهُ كَفًّا ضَخْمَةً قَالَ فَقُمْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَبَّلْنَا كَفَّيْهِ جَمِيعًا.
English Translation
Yunus told us, he said: al-Attaf told us, he said: Abd al-Rahman told me — [that is] his father — and someone other than Yunus ibn Razin said: that he stopped at al-Rabadhah, he and his companions, intending to perform Hajj. It was said to them: "Here is Salamah ibn al-Akwa', a Companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." So we came to him and greeted him with peace, then we questioned him, and he said: "I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with this very hand of mine," and he held out his palm for us — a huge palm. He said: "So we got up to him and kissed both of his hands together."
