قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ بْنَ نِيَارٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تَجْلِدُوا فَوْقَ عَشَرَةَ أَسْوَاطٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
English Translation
He said: Surayj narrated to us, who said: 'Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn al-Harith, from Bukayr, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, who said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir ibn 'Abdullah narrated to me that his father told him that he heard Abu Burdah ibn Niyar al-Ansari say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Do not flog more than ten lashes, except in a matter concerning one of the prescribed punishments of Allah, Mighty and Majestic."
