English Translation
He said, Sufyan ibn Uyayna told us, from Ayyub, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Hisham ibn Amir, who said: 'You go for knowledge to people who are no more knowledgeable of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, than we are. My father was killed on the Day of Uhud, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Dig, and make the graves wide, and bury two or three in a grave, and put forward whichever of them knew more of the Qur'an." And my father knew more of the Qur'an than the others, so he was put forward.'
