English Translation

He said, Yahya ibn Adam told us: Ibn al-Mubarak told us, from al-Awza'i, from Hassan ibn Atiyya, from Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani, from Aws ibn Aws al-Thaqafi, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: 'Whoever washes and takes a full bath on Friday, goes early and hastens, walks and does not ride, then draws near to the imam, listens and does not engage in idle talk, will have, for every step, the deeds of a year — the reward of its fasting and its standing in prayer.' He said, Ibrahim ibn Ishaq told us: Ibn al-Mubarak told us, from al-Awza'i, who said: Hassan ibn Atiyya told us, who said: Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani told me, who said: Aws ibn Aws al-Thaqafi told me, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he mentioned the like of it, except that he said, 'then he goes early and hastens.'
