قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ثُمَّ أُنْسِيتُهَا وَأُرَانِي صَبِيحَتَهَا أَسْجُدُ فِي مَاءٍ وَطِينٍ فَمُطِرْنَا لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَانْصَرَفَ وَإِنَّ أَثَرَ الْمَاءِ وَالطِّينِ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ وَأَنْفِهِ.
English Translation
Anas b. Iyad Abu Damrah narrated to us: al-Dahhak b. Uthman narrated to me, from Abu al-Nadr, freedman of Umar b. Ubaydullah, from Busr b. Sa'id, from Abdullah b. Unays, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I saw the Night of Decree, then I was made to forget it, and I saw myself the next morning prostrating in water and mud." So it rained on the night of the twenty-third, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led us in prayer, and when he departed, the trace of water and mud was on his forehead and nose.
