English Translation

Sa'id b. Yahya b. Sa'id al-Qurashi narrated to us: My father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: Husayn b. Abdullah narrated to me, from Rabi'ah b. Abbad al-Du'ali — and from someone else who related to him, from Zayd b. Aslam, from Rabi'ah b. Abbad — who said: By Allah, I recall him going around the encampments at Mina, while I was a young lad with my father, and behind him was a handsome man, cross-eyed, with two braided locks. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stopped before a people, he said, "I am the Messenger of Allah, commanding you to worship Him and not associate anything with Him," while the one behind him would say, "This one calls you to abandon the religion of your fathers, and to strip away al-Lat and al-Uzza and your allies of Banu Malik b. Uqaysh, in favor of the innovation and misguidance he has brought." He said: I said to my father, "Who is this?" He said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab, Abd al-Uzza b. Abd al-Muttalib."
