English Translation
Abd al-Rahman b. Mahdi narrated to us: Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to us, from Rabi'ah b. Yazid, who said: I heard Wathilah b. al-Asqa' say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "The greatest of falsehoods are three: that a man falsely claims about his own eyes, saying 'I saw' when he did not see; that he falsely claims regarding his parents, being attributed to other than his true father; or that he says 'he heard me' when he did not hear from me."
