English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abi Adi narrated to us from Sulayman - meaning al-Taymi - from Abu Uthman - meaning al-Nahdi - from Qabisah ibn Mukhariq, who said: When there was revealed to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, 'And warn your nearest kinsfolk,' the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, went to a rocky outcrop of a mountain and climbed to its top, then called out - or he said, cried out: 'O Banu Abd Manaf! I am a warner. My likeness and yours is like that of a man who saw the enemy and went to warn his people, calling out' - or crying out - 'O, disaster in the morning!' My father [Ahmad] said: Ibn Abi Adi said, regarding this hadith, from Qabisah ibn Mukhariq, or Wahb ibn Amr - and this is an error; rather it is Zuhayr ibn Amr. When this error became clear, I abandoned [the narration through] Wahb ibn Amr.
