English Translation
Abd al-Samad narrated to us: Hisham and Hammam narrated to us from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Jawn ibn Qatadah, from Salamah ibn al-Muhabbiq, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a house at whose entrance a waterskin was hanging, and he asked for a drink; it was said to him: It is [from] a dead animal [not properly slaughtered]. He said: Its tanning is its purification.
